Disabled football improving

Dear Daily Newspaper,

My name is Jordan Raynes. I am young disabled footballer how has been involved disabled football for 2 years. when I first heard of the prospect of playing with other disabled footballers the opportunity seemed less appealing to me this was because from a young age football has been drummed into me so my disability has never been something that has been an obstacle when it came to football because I worked hard to compete at the able bodied level. And at the time I felt playing disabled football would be a step down from what I was used to “boy how young I was “I now play in the pan disability league for man city I am so goalkeeper and last year I won the player of the year award and we finished third in the league I also play for disabled centre excellence set up by man united and I play above my level for the men’s team.

I have just read the article written by Kevin Sherniff all about disabled football but since then situation has improved rather drastically with leagues for disabled were people with all sorts of people with a whole range of disabilities can compete at a high standard off football. There are also coaching centre where all the more advanced players can get coached at standard in which aims to further talent to prepare than for international duty in playing for there country. I agree that the sport does need more media coverage although I’m inspired by huge popularity boost that women’s football has got I think if we take a step in there direction we won’t be doing bad because the standard is good enough we just need people to see us play,

I hope you continue to support us.

Many regards

Jordan Raynes
